CHESANING TWP, Mich - The Chesaning Township board talked about the possibility of allowing businesses to sell recreational marijuana and the consensus from board members is that it's not something they want in their town.

Supervisor Robert Corrin says the board plans on writing up an ordinance banning businesses from selling recreational marijuana.

Corrin says he is waiting for officials in Lansing to give the township more guidance before they write up the ordinance.

"We checked the polls at the last election and it shows the majority of the people in the township are not in favor of it so we are honoring the wishes of the constituents of the township," said Corrin.

Corrin says just because they are against recreational marijuana now doesn't mean they can not change their mind.

Chesaning joins Ithaca and Saginaw Township as communities also not interested in the recreational marijuana businesses.
