Concert raises money for orphans in Africa
FENTON, Mich.-- A group of mid-Michigan men are uniting cultures through music.
On Friday June 15, 2018 they're hosting a benefit concert to help give kids in Kenya an education.
Pianist Bob Milne has played for more than 50 years.
Bob became friends with the leader of an indigenous tribe named Paul Kitesho during his travels.
Paul looks after and about 45 orphans.
Proceeds from the concert are going towards Paul's efforts to help them learn.
“The children have to go to school. Send to school get their degree. Get jobs. Because that's the only thing a person can't take from you,” Paul said.
The concert starts at 7 PM at the Fenton United Methodist Church.
The group hopes to raise $10,000 dollars.
