BIRCH RUN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A crash on I-75 in Saginaw County sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night on southbound I-75 near the Busch Road overpass.

Two vehicles were found approximately 75 yards away from one another.

Michigan State Police say one vehicle was either stopped or already crashed when it was hit by the second vehicle.

A woman was found lying outside the first vehicle next to the median wall with what police called ‘significant injuries’.

That victim was taken to the hospital via a flight care helicopter.

It is unknown how the woman came to be outside of her car.

Two occupants in the second vehicle were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

All southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down for about a half hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.

MSP traffic reconstructionists are still investigating what caused the crash.
