“Dig in Midland” to bring big changes to downtown Midland
Downtown Midland will soon be looking a little different.
New plans to renovate the city are underway with a project called “Dig in Midland.”
The city will be working on everything from putting down new trees to revamping the sidewalks.
Business owners NCB25/FOX66’s Miranda Parnell spoke with in the heart of downtown say they're excited about these developments and think it'll help bring even more foot traffic to the city.
The folks who run this little shop on Main and Ashman have an artists' eye for beauty.
That's why they're excited to see Midland making things a little more aesthetically pleasing.
The project officially kicks off on Monday, and crews will focus on improving and widening sidewalks for more outdoor dining options as well as creating more space for outdoor events.
During construction, there will be some road and sidewalk closures from the project along Main and McDonald streets, but longtime store owners say it'll be worth it.
Though it may be a while before everything is finished, these business owners say they're looking forward to see the area with a brand new look.
