FLINT, Mich. - Dort Federal Credit Union presented two local charities with a pretty large check Monday on behalf of their snowman sales.

The Old News Boys and Ele's Place received over $23,000 to go towards their community programs.

That is over $11,000 for each organization.

Ele's Place just moved into a new location in Flint and they say this money will help them offer their programs to more families within the area.

"It's incredibly important for us to have support from individuals and organizations like Dort Federal, because all of our programming is provided free of charge to the children and families that we serve," said Ele's Place managing director Amy Krug.

The organizations also made kid's emergency care kits containing a blanket, stuffed animals, crayons and coloring books along with a dental care kit.

These kits will be provided to children involved with first responders during an emergency.
