Flint holds annual Holiday Walk through cultural center
FLINT, Mich. - People in Flint came to the Flint Cultural Center for the annual Holiday Walk.
Old Saint Nick kicked off the event with a tree lighting ceremony Monday evening.
The holiday walk transformed the cultural center into a winter wonderland, with light displays, festive music, and hands-on arts and crafts.
"The energy is amazing. People sometimes tell us is the only time they can come on campus to see these buildings. It is a free event and it’s something that we give to the community for the holiday. And it's something that we're super excited about and it's a great feeling just to give back," said Whiting education and community manager Loe’l Murphy.
The event was free, however attendees could bring personal care items, clothing, and non-perishable food that will be donated to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
