Flint, Owosso schools declare half day for Tuesday due to heat wave
FLINT, Mich. – Students at Flint and Owosso schools will have a half day on Tuesday, September 26 due to the heat wave.
Flint schools spokesperson Clare Liening distributed word the schools would be on a half day schedule with the following dismissal times:
Brownell 12:15 p.m.
Doyle Ryder 12:20 p.m.
DTM 12:15 p.m.
Eisenhower 11:35 a.m.
Holmes 12:20 p.m.
Neithercut 12:20 p.m.
Pierce 11:40 a.m.
Potter 11:40 a.m.
Northwestern/ALA 11:05 a.m.
Southwestern 10:30 a.m.
Owosso schools announced via Facebook that high school and middle school students would be released at 11:10 a.m.
Elementary schools would be released at noon.
Preschool will only hold a.m. classes, but child care at Bentley Bright Beginnings will be open.
Athletic events and practices will take place 'with safety precaution' share with players by coaches.
Highs for the area are expected to be in the upper eighties Tuesday.
