Flint Southwestern High School goes into lockdown due to man with gun

FLINT, Mich. – A man with a gun prompt Flint’s Southwestern Academy to into lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

Flint police say they received the call of a man with a gun at the school. around 3:15 p.m.

Information given to 911 advised the man left the school in a vehicle shortly after.

Police found that vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, the gun was found and the man was taken into custody.

Police say no one was injured during the incident.

At this time police are unsure of why the man was at the school and have not been told of any threats to anyone at the school.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and more details will be provided as they become available.
