Flood watch canceled, high wind still threaten Mid-Michigan this weekend

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 am Sunday through 8 pm Sunday night.

The Flood Watch has been canceled.

A strong fall storm system will bring a threat for flooding and high wind to Mid-Michigan this weekend.

Flooding rain will be the biggest risk, and a Flood Watch is in effect until 4 am on Sunday morning for Genesee, Tuscola, Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Shiawassee, Gratiot, and Isabella counties.

One to three inches of rain is likely across the Flood Watch area, potentially leading to localized flooding.

Once the rain ends early Sunday morning, the winds will get stronger.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, Bay, Tuscola, Huron, Midland, Isabella, Gratiot, Sanilac, and Lapeer counties from 8 am Sunday morning through 8 pm Sunday evening.

Winds could gust up to 55 mph, which is strong enough to bring down tree limbs and power lines.

It would be a good idea to secure Halloween decorations tonight so they don't blow around tonight.
