Free Flint event offers locally hand-made Valentine's Day gift ideas
Looking for Valentine’s gift made with a personal touch?
A group of local crafters known as Flint Handmade will be holding a crafting event at the Flint Farmer’s Market.
The free ‘Valentine’s Day Mini-Market’ will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Vendors from the Flint area will be offering handmade products ranging from jewelry and crocheted items to candles and soaps and much more.
Attendees can also make their own gift to take home while supplies last.
Flint Handmade founder and executive director Crystal Pepperdine says the event’s theme is meant to celebrate all forms of love, not just the romantic kind.
“For Valentine’s Day, we encourage you to show your kids, your parents, your friends, really anyone, that you love them and want to spend time with them,” said Pepperdine.
While the event is free, donations can be made to benefit PAWS Animal Rescue’s ‘Pets in Peril’ program which provides under privileged pet owners with food, shelter and other necessities for their pets.
