FLINT, Mich. - The Genesee County Board of Commissioners honored the heroes of the Bishop Airport terrorist attack Monday.

During their board meeting they recognized Chief Christopher Miller, Lieutenant Dan Owen, Officer Chris Curnow, airport employee Richard Krul and Joe Garza.

These individuals were key in taking down Amor Ftouhi who stabbed Officer Jeff Neville in the neck last June in the baggage area.

"Because of the heroic and selfless actions of these individuals there was no loss of life as a result of the cowardly actions by this fanatic terrorist,” said chairperson Mark Young.

The commissioner also issued a proclamation designating March 12, 2018 as Lieutenant Jeffrey Neville Day in Genesee County.

Even after facing life threatening injuries, Neville continued to fight the terrorist so that he could not inflict harm on people in the airport.
