Genesee District Court Director Dena Altheide retiring after 44 years
Flint, Mich. (WSMH) —
Dena Altheide started at the Genesee County District Court at the age of 18, and never left.
She eventually made her way up to Director of Court Operations, and is now walking into retirement.
Altheide has spent time in nearly every department at the building.
Her friends and co-workers gathered at the District Courthouse to wish her well on her upcoming retirement.
Presiding Judge Christopher Odette calls Altheide’s contribution to the court monumental.
“The court is really going to miss her. We have good people that are coming on and she’s training them."
But is there was a Mount Rushmore of court administrators she would be on it,” Odette says.
Altheide says she’s going to miss the people she’s worked with over the years. But is looking forward to her future.
“I have grandchildren that I’m looking forward to spending time with, and helping out more with a charity I’m involved in,” Altheide says.
Her last day is at the end of December.
