Holiday tournament prepares teams for Flint Community Basketball League
FLINT, Mich. - The first annual CMB Holiday Classic Tournament kicked off Friday.
This is a way for the teams to prepare for Flint's new Community Basketball League.
It is a tournament with fifth grade boys from elite teams.
Seven teams from Flint, Saginaw, Lansing, and the Detroit areas competed to see who will bring in the new year as the top team in the state.
"So just to be able to create more opportunities, and bring the youth and also the community together I think that it will create relationships and also show how resilient our city is,” said Chris McLavish, Director/CEO of CMB Basketball.
Citywide league starts next week at Cathedral of Faith and Eagle’s Nest Academy.
