Southbound I-75 reopens after truck hauling backhoe strikes overpass
MOUNT MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- ***UPDATE***
MDOT spokeswoman Jocelyn Hall says she received information from police stating the driver of the truck was improperly licensed and did not have a CDL.
According to MDOT, I-75 is open now.
Police say that a truck hauling a backhoe hit the Coldwater Road overpass.
The piece of heavy machinery is what hit the bridge.
No one was injured.
Southbound I-75 has been shut down at the West Coldwater Road overpass.
A semi hit the bridge in that area.
Michigan Department of Transportation crews have been called to the area to assess damage.
Traffic is currently backed up to the I-475 on-ramp.
