LARA holds first marijuana info session
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. --The Michigan Department of Regulatory Affairs hosted an information session for those interested in learning more about the medical marijuana business.
The information session at Saginaw Valley State University, one of five being held throughout the state.
Over 3,000 people have registered in the hopes of learning more about the application process.
Five different licenses will be available, grower, provisioning center, secure transporter, processor, and safety facility.
Members from LARA walked those in attendance through the application process as well as how to track from seed to sale.
While attendance for the event wasn't mandatory to receive your license, many were hoping to learn more about this new regulatory process.
"We just want to be as transparent as possible," says David Harns, public information officer with LARA.
Those interested can start applying for the licenses December 15.
There is no deadline to apply.
The state hopes to start issuing in April 2018.
