FLINT, Mich. - A star from the Discovery Channel show, MythBusters came to Flint Thursday to show people how science can still be cool.

Kari Byron spoke at the University of Michigan-Flint campus.

This is part of a series hosted by U-M Flint, to get more women and kids getting involved in stem programs.

"How important it is for kids to make that connect and being able to see someone both on TV and helping to show them that science is cool is I think a very strong message,” said associate professor Jessica Tischler.

U-M Flint recently invested $39 million in its science center to support STEM-related education.
