FLINT, Mich. – Thursday morning kids in Flint are seeing a little clearer thanks to a new program.

The Flint Now Foundation created by Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores partnered with the non-profit ‘Vision to Learn’ to make sure children in the city can see.

Vision to Learn provides free eye exams and glasses to students across the nation.

Thursday at Brownell Stem Academy 49 kids had the chance to meet Hooper and pick out glasses of their own.

"It's a problem for kids if they are unable to see the board, a book to do their math homework, see what's up on the board,” said Vision to Learn director Damien Carroll.

It's estimated that a thousand kids in Flint Community Schools go to school without the glasses they need.
