Grand Blanc Township, Mich. - A longtime putt putt, go kart and gaming center in Genesee County could close, if they accept an offer from Grand Blanc Township.

Tuesday night, Grand Blanc Township's board approved buying Playland Park, on Dort Highway, for $530,000.

While there are no exact plans on the future for this piece of property, the township supervisor says the best time to buy is when the land is available. The plot sits right next to the township's offices, and police and fire department.

"Our plans are to use it for expansion of DPW. I guess when we look at the future of Grand Blanc Township with the growth that we are experiencing, if we are going to be like Troy in 25 years we need to be prepared with the property to be able to service our residents in a respectful manner," said Scott Bennett, Grand Blanc Township Supervisor.

Bennett expects the sale to be finalized by the end of the week.

Playland, however, says they haven't received an official offer yet and have made no decision on whether or not to sell.

On their Facebook page, Playland said they will make a decision this week.
