Police: 3-year-old was not secured in a car seat at time of deadly crash
SAGINAW, Mich. -- ***UPDATE***
Detective Lopez with the Saginaw Police Department says that the child was not secured in a car seat at the time of the crash.
Instead, Lopez said the child “was secured in a shoulder and lap belt.”
Police say a 3-year-old boy is dead following a car crash.
The car crash happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersections of South 12th and Walnut streets.
Police say a Jeep Liberty and a Dodge Caliber were involved in the crash, and that three-year-old Johnny Lee Frazier III was pronounced dead at a local hospital following the crash.
Police believe that speed and disregarding a stop sign may have been factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
