Police: icy roads cause 6 car crash on Tittabawassee Road
SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police say the icy roads may have been the cause of a six-car crash on Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw Township.
Police say on Tuesday, Dec. 19 around 7:45 a.m. a white Chevy Tahoe was traveling westbound on Tittabawassee Road between Mackinaw and Center when it lost control on the icy roads. The Tahoe entered the eastbound lanes striking a pickup truck that was eastbound.
The Tahoe continued westbound and then struck a Chevy Impala head-on in the eastbound lanes, according to Saginaw Township Police. The 24-year-old female driver of the Impala, a Thomas Township resident, was pinned in the vehicle. Emergency crews were able to free her from the vehicle.
Police say the driver suffers non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Police say there were a total of six vehicles involved in the chain reaction type crash.
No other drivers or passengers were hurt at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
