Saginaw’s Light Up the City kicks off on Ojibway Island
SAGINAW, Mich. --There’s a party happening on Saginaw’s Ojibway Island and you’re invited!
It’s all a part of Saginaw’s annual Light Up the City campaign, which focuses on community safety.
It’s called Light Up the City because the campaign encourages residents to turn on their porch lights every night and join in on weekly walks every Wednesday.
The idea is that by having more people visible and actively monitoring their neighborhoods, the opportunity for crime is reduced.
This campaign has been going on for six years.
