Sheriff: Man dies following head-on, pin-in crash in Tuscola County

    TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. -- The Tuscola County Sheriff says that a Vassar man is dead following a head-on, pin-in crash.

    The crash happened on Tuesday just after 4 p.m. near Frankenmuth and Jay roads in Tuscola Township.

    Investigation shows that a 52-year-old Vassar man was heading westbound on Frankenmuth Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit an eastbound vehicle.

    The eastbound vehicle was driven by a 55-year-old Vassar man who had two passengers under the age of 5 with him.

    Deputies say that the 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and that he was not wearing a seat-belt.

    The intersection was closed for several hours due to the investigation.

    An autopsy is being scheduled and the accident is still under investigation.
