CLARE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man was arrested after deputies said he robbed a restaurant at gunpoint.

The Clare County Central Dispatch received a call of an armed robbery on Superior Street near Main Street around 11:03 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators said an employee leaving Farwell Buccilli's Restaurant was held at gunpoint by a male wearing a black ski mask demanding the restaurant's nightly banking deposits.

Deputies said the suspect left the scene on foot after receiving the money.

A Clare County K-9 unit was able to track down the suspect, a 31-year-old Farwell man, hiding in the bushes behind the Farwell Elementary School.

The nightly deposits, which totaled $1,431.17, and the firearm used by the suspect were found during the search, according to investigators.

The man was taken to the Clare County Jail pending review of charges by the Clare County Prosecutor.
