State Police warning about fake social media post

DETROIT, Mich - The Michigan State Police issued a warning on Twitter saying a post going around on social media regarding human trafficking is not true.

The post references a human sex trafficking operation and alleged attempted abductions in Howell, Clio, Pinckney, Roseville, Fenton and Atherton Road area in Flint, Durand, and Thetford Township and Tuscola Township.

State Police say all of the incidents are not true.

They say the best way to keep your kids safe is to keep an eye on their internet activity.

State Police say the danger is online.
