SVSU hosts Foreign Language Day for area high school students
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University welcomed regional high school students for Foreign Language Day Thursday.
More than 400 high school students from eight Mid-Michigan schools competed in categories such as song, dance and music, all in the languages of French and Spanish.
"For most of these students, aging from grades nine to eleven, it's exciting to show what they've learned in their language class, and to actually apply it to things they actually enjoy,” said Foreign Languages Department Chairperson Monica Dix.
The event was part of a series of events SVSU hosted as part of International Education Week.
