Columbiaville teen killed after crash in Lapeer County
LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. - Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a deadly crash on Burnside Road in North Branch.
Deputies say on Thursday, Jan. 11 around at 6:30 a.m., Lapeer County 911 dispatched Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies to an injury accident on Burnside Road to the east of Booth Road in North Branch. Deerfield Township Fire and Rescue also responded.
Deputies say 17-year-old Adrianna Phouvone from Columbiaville was traveling east on Burnside Road. The 2007 Pontiac G5 driven by Adrianna traveled over the center line and rotated in the path of a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 57-year-old female from Clifford, according to Deputies. The impact was considered broadside with the front of the Malibu striking the driver’s side door of the Pontiac driven by the teen.
Deputies say Adrianna was pronounced dead at the scene. The 57-year-old female from Clifford was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary examination states that neither alcohol nor excessive speeds are factors.
Roadway conditions were wet and Adrianna was wearing her seat belt. Deputies say her vehicle did have airbag deployment.
The roadway was closed for several hours during the investigation.
Deputies say the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgt. Jason Parks at 810-1015 or email@example.com.
