Winter Weather Advisory in effect through 7 p.m. Sunday

Snowfall forecast for mid-Michigan

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, Bay, Huron, Midland, Tuscola, Gratiot, Isabella, Lapeer, Sanilac, and Clare counties until 7 p.m. Sunday night.

4 to 8 inches of snow is expected in Bay, Saginaw, Midland, Tuscola, and Huron counties, with highest amounts in the Thumb region.

3 to 6 inches of snow is likely in Genesee, Shiawassee, Gratiot, Lapeer, Sanilac, Clare, and Isabella counties.

The heaviest snow is likely from early Sunday morning through early afternoon on Sunday.

Roads will likely be snow covered through Sunday night, which will make for slippery travel.

Winds will gust up to 25 mph on Sunday, which may cause some blowing and drifting of snow.
