Youth group cleans up Polly Ann Trail tunnels
A popular nature trail in Lapeer county is getting a makeover as a local youth group spends a few days covering up graffiti with their own original artwork.
The Polly Ann Tunnels in Imlay City used to be an eye sore to look at and a headache for the police, until the Youth Outreach Director of the Gateway Assembly Church contacted the chief and offered to repaint the walls and clean up the tunnels for free.
Cleaning the tunnels is one way the group is showcasing their talents and to also learn some life lessons.
To protect the tunnels and its new artwork, the police department has installed cameras to help catch any troublemakers.
The volunteers plan to unveil their artwork Saturday afternoon.
