Flint, Mich-- On Tuesday, the Genesee County Land Bank announced plans to demolish three blighted structures in Flint.

The first, a commercial property on North Saginaw Street where the Land Bank held a press conference along with community partners from the state, county and city.

The second, a residential area on Averill Avenue.

The demolition was made possible by grant funding from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, The City of Flint, Genesee County and private contributions. This morning MSHDA presented the Landbank with a check for $500,000.

During the conference, City Administrator Sylvester Jones said more than 15 million dollars has been used to redevelop Flint and this project falls in line with the city's Imagine Flint Master Plan and Five Year Blight Elimination framework.
