Michigan teachers "walk in" in conjunction with "Wear Red for Public Ed" campaign
FLINT TOWNSHIP, MICH-- Dozens of teachers at Carman- Ainsworth High School walked into school wearing red on Wednesday.
According to a release we received from the Michigan Education Association it's all a part of the "Wear Red for public Ed" campaign.
"There's a massive shortage of teachers, there's been a massive cut to funding and we want Lansing to listen to us," said MEA member and Carman-Ainsworth President, Frank Burger.
Teachers are urging lawmakers to value students, respect educators and better fund public schools.
In mid-Michigan Flint, Pinconning and Caro were all districts getting involved.
Teachers plan to do this every Wednesday until the end of the year.
