MOVIE PICK: "Bad Times at the El Royale," "Goosebumps 2" and "First Man" new in theaters
FLINT-- You have three new films hitting theaters this weekend, all going for different audiences. One is an adult thriller. The second is an adolescent Halloween comedy. The third, a space drama based on history.
"First Man" tells the riveting story of NASA's mission to land a man on the moon. It focuses on Neil Armstrong between 1961 and 1969, exploring the sacrifices and cost both Armstrong and the nation paid to pull off what was among the most dangerous missions in history.
"Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween" follows two best friends-- Sonny and Sam-- who go out searching for junk and meet Slappy, a mischievous talking dummy. Slappy wants to start his own family so he kidnaps Sonny's mother and brings all his ghoulish friends back to life just in time for Halloween. Sonny teams up with his sister, Sam and a neighbor to foil Slappy's plans.
You get witches, monsters and gummy bears with razor sharp teeth in this film.
Finally, you have "Bad Times at the El Royale." Seven strangers with seven secrets converging on one location-- a rundown hotel that sits on the California-Nevada border. That hotel becomes a seedy battleground when the strangers are all there on a fateful night, looking for one last shot at redemption before everything goes wrong.
