Genesee Co. Salvation Army celebrates Donut Day with free treats and coffee
On Friday the Genesee County Salvation Army and Walmart helped celebrate National Donut Day.
Customers who walked in from 6AM to 8AM on Friday received a free doughnut.
It was during World War I, that National Donut Day was born.
"We are grateful to Walmart for raising awareness about The Salvation Army's proud heritage and outreach efforts," says Captain Caleb Senn, The Salvation Army Genesee/Shiawassee Regional Coordinator.
Women volunteers and Salvation Army officers set up stations near the front lines and provided warm meals.
