Flint, Mich-- The Unity Adult Day Club opened its doors to the public in July to give seniors and veterans a fun and safe place to hangout during the day.

The center has now opened its doors yet again to take donations for Hurricane Harvey victims. This Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. they'll accept items to send to Houston.

Organizers are hoping to fill two large semi trucks with much needed relief items. Some of the donations needed include toys, toiletries and non perishable food.

"When we were going through our crisis there were people from out of state who helped us, now it's time for us to help them even if our crisis isn't over," said Andre Smith.

The Unity Center is located at 5350 Genesee Rd. for more information you can call 810-449-7081.

You can also help Harvey relief efforts by donating to the Red Cross online, by calling -800-REDCROSS or by texting HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

The Salvation Army also has a special page already set up for the cause.
