A Florida woman is behind bars after deputies say she shot her boyfriend for how loud he snored.

Brevard County Sheriff's deputies say 47-year-old Lorie Morin allegedly shot her boyfriend for his loud snoring in her home Wednesday night.

Deputies spoke with Morin's boyfriend and he told deputies that early Wednesday morning Morin had elbowed him for snoring. Later that evening after the couple began drinking, Morin went to her room and pointed her shotgun at him, the arrest report states.

As he tried to leave he told deputies, he "heard a loud boom and woke up lying in a pool of blood with excruciating pain."

According to the arrest report, Morin told deputies she and her boyfriend were drinking and began packing some of her belongings. Her loaded 20 gauge pump shotgun was in her room when she handed it to her boyfriend when it accidentally went off. Morin's boyfriend was shot near his right armpit.

Deputies arrested Morin on Thursday and charged her with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. Morin is currently being held on $40,000 bond.
