WASHINGTON – Interim Michigan State University president John Engler is set to testify before a U.S. Senate subcommittee.

Engler is set to talk before the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, Insurance and Data Security July 24 at 2:30 p.m.regarding crimes committed by Nassar, according to MSU vice president and spokesperson Emily Guerrant.

That same subcommittee took testimony from former MSU president Lou Ann Simon last month trying to determine what she knew about Nassar’s criminal activity prior to the accusations being made public.

Victims of Nassar testified that MSU, U.S.A Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee failed to protect athletes from Nassar's sexual abuse in April of 2018.

Nassar was convicted and sentenced to prison for multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct.
