Reward offered for information, recovery of 89 handguns stolen from Family Farm & Home
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of 89 handguns stolen earlier this month from the Family Farm & Home in Cedar Springs, Michigan.
Half of the reward, $2,500, is being offered by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is investigating the theft in conjunction with the Kent County Sheriff's Office. That reward will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry.
The reward is part of a national cooperative initiative between the foundation and the ATF, in which the foundation matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.
The theft occurred Nov. 4, 2017, when a suspect or suspects broke into the Farm & Home store at 4175 17 Mile Road. The break-in was discovered when employees arrived to work.
Anyone with information about this crime should contact ATF at 800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867) or the Kent County Sheriff’s Office at 616-632-6125. Information also can be sent to ATF via the mobile app Reportit, which is available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. All calls and tips will be kept confidential.
ATF is the lead federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction involving firearms and violent crimes, and regulates the firearm industry. ATF works closely with members of the firearm industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
