Beecher, Saginaw, Beaverton, and Lake Fenton advance to quarterfinals

Saginaw warms up for their game against Traverse City West on Wednesday night.

Girl's basketball has provided enough excitement to last through the off-season and on Wednesday night it was the Mid-Michigan boys' turn to dazzle us as the regional finals took center stage. Saginaw took on Traverse City West at Mt. Pleasant High School. The Trjoans jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the tip and never looked back, they advance to the state quarterfinals with a 75-65 win. They will take on Clarkston on March 21st.

Lake Fenton locked horns with Frankenmuth Wednesday night and the Blue Devils Andrew Forester paved the way with some impressive play on the low block. Lake Fenton wins the game 68-52, they will face Ludington o March 21st in the quarterfinals.

Fowler battled Flint International Academy in the their regional finals match-up. It was a one point game at the half but Folwer came storming out of the gates in the second half led by Mason Pline and Jeremy Pung. The dynamic duo led the team to a 63-48 win.

Beecher and Brown City got together but the Bucs were in a different stratosphere on Wednesday. Malik Ellison scored 26 points to lead Beecher to a 79-34 victory. Next up for them is a contest against Beaverton on March 21st.

Beaverton took on Saginaw Nouvel for the right to play Beecher and it was the Beavers emerging victorious 44-31.
