Hometown Hoops: Boys District Finals feature feverish finishes

Mt. Pleasant beat Midland Dow on Friday night for the district title.

In our Hometown Hoops Game of the Week, Bridgeport and Frankenmuth had a seesaw battle, going back and forth all night. But, the Eagles pulled away in the final moments, winning the District Title 58-49.

Freeland and John Glenn battled throughout the first, and second half in a Class B District Final, the Falcons winning the title 53-46.

Mt. Pleasant took a double-digit lead into the second half against Dow, and despite the Chemics best efforts, the Oilers pulled out a 44-35 District Title victory.

Saginaw and Arthur Hill tangled for the third time this year and much like the first two times, the Trojans came away a winner. Saginaw outscored Arthur Hill 47-18 in the second half to win the game 75-47.

Beecher is looking for another state title to add to the trophy case and Bendle stood in their way on Friday night, but not for long. The Buccaneers came flying out of the gates and never looked back beating the Tigers 77-38.

Grand Blanc and Linden rekindled their rivalry one more time on Friday night, this time with a district title on the line. It was a see-saw battle throughout but Linden holds on for the 53-51 win.
