Leslie Toldo has worked in broadcasting for over 25 years, 20 of them in Michigan. Leslie was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and attended LSU before transferring to University of Wyoming. Before graduating from the University of Wyoming with a Communications degree, Leslie was the afternoon drive DJ for KOWB/KCGY in Laramie, Wyoming. From there, she went to KTWO in Casper and was the main weather anchor, nightside reporter and helped produce the 10 PM newscast- all on a typewriter, and without the internet, cellphone or pagers. True story.
Leslie took on a weekend weather, general assignment position at WJTV in Jackson, MS, then landed a weekend weather, GA gig at WKBD in Detroit. While she was there, she completed a three year broadcast meteorology program through Mississippi State University. Eventually, Leslie became the full-time medial reporter at WKBD, and earned an Emmy nod for her work. She also completed the Second City School of Improv program in Detroit.
Finally, Leslie moved to Mid-Michigan, at WJRT, where she started as weekend co-anchor/meteorologist. Within a year she was named 4 pm meteorologist and medical reporter. During her time at WJRT, Leslie received an Emmy nomination for her reporting.
Leslie serves on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Genesee County. She enjoys running, and has completed two full marathons. She also loves people and traveling. Leslie lives in Linden with her husband Rick and their three dogs, Daisy, Bear and Gus.
