The first day of fall arrives on Saturday, and fall-like weather will arrive just in time for the start of autumn.
A cold front crossing mid-Michigan with gusty winds on Friday will usher in much cooler and more refreshing air for this weekend.
There may even be patchy frost in a few interior locations of central and northern Michigan.
Low temperatures could drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s on both Saturday morning, and again Sunday morning.
Low temperatures will not get as chilly in the Thumb region, where a wind coming off the relatively warm water temperatures of Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron will keep temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Any light frost that may form is unlikely to damage crops or plants, as temperatures will stay above 32 degrees.
